10.23. Antiblocking system of brakes (ABS)
THE GENERAL DATA

The antiblocking system prevents blocking of wheels at sharp braking. Thanks to it the car at full braking remains operated.

The system consists of the hydraulic block of a regulator and 4 wheel gauges.

The regulator block contains the electronic control device (ECU), 8 hydraulic electromagnetic valves (on 2 on each brake) and the pump with an electric drive.

Electromagnetic valves cope block ECU which receives signals from four gauges established on each wheel of the car (forward gauges are fixed on naves, and back are attached to a suspension bracket of installation of a support) which supervise speed of rotation of each wheel. Comparing these signals, block ECU can define speed of the car. At the expense of comparison of speed of separately taken wheel with average speed of the car the management block defines a condition of blocking of a wheel. When the wheel comes nearer to blocking, pressure of a brake liquid is too high, therefore pressure in a support decreases on a signal of the block of management. It occurs until the wheel again will not start to be accelerated. Then valve are closed again and created by a pedal of a brake pressure starts to affect repeatedly. However value of pressure in a brake contour of this wheel not above the general pressure in system. Work ABS at sharp braking repeats on each wheel until the effort or the car is made a pedal will not stop.

At any malfunction in system ABS there is its switching-off. Control lamp ABS on the panel of devices in this case lights up, and the brake system works in a usual mode.

THE REGULATOR BLOCK

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the negative plug from the accumulator.
2. Release скобу and disconnect the main electric socket from the regulator block. Unscrew a nut and disconnect the tyre of grounding from the block.
3. Mark brake tubes, unscrew connecting nuts and disconnect tubes from the regulator block.
4. Unscrew nuts of fastening of a regulator and take it from a motor compartment.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish a regulator into place and fix nuts.
2. Connect brake tubes and tighten nuts of fastening by the demanded moment.
3. Connect an electric socket and the grounding tyre to the regulator block.
4. Remove air from brake system.

THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL DEVICE (ECU)

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Block ECU can be removed from a regulator when the regulator block remains on the car. Remove the accumulator and a support under it.
2. Release скобу and disconnect an electric socket from block ECU.
3. Unscrew bolts of fastening and take block ECU from a motor compartment.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish block ECU on a regulator and fix bolts.
2. Connect an electric socket to the block and establish the accumulator.

THE FORWARD WHEEL GAUGE (THE GAUGE OF ROTATION OF THE WHEEL)

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the negative plug from the accumulator.
2. Lift a forward part of the car and fix on supports. Remove a wheel.
3. Unscrew a nut and a bolt (are specified by arrows).
4. Remove a protective board from the gauge.
5. Disconnect the electric socket located on a wire of the gauge of rotation of a wheel.
6. Unscrew a bolt of fastening of the gauge of rotation of a wheel.
7. Remove the gauge from a rotary fist.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Be convinced that interfaced surfaces of the gauge and a rotary fist pure, and grease with a small layer of greasing an aperture for gauge installation in a rotary fist.
2. Check up that the gauge tip is pure and enters freely into a rotary fist.
3. Grease a carving of a bolt of fastening of the gauge with means against unscrewing (Loctite Frenetanch). Establish the gauge in a rotary fist and fix a bolt.
4. Connect an electric socket to the gauge.
5. Establish a protective board to the gauge and fix a nut and a bolt.

THE BACK WHEEL GAUGE (THE GAUGE OF ROTATION OF THE WHEEL)

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Lift a back part of the car and fix on supports. Remove a corresponding back wheel.
2. Disconnect an electric socket (укзан an arrow) from the gauge.
3. Unscrew a bolt and take the gauge (it is specified by an arrow) from a nest.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Be convinced that interfaced surfaces of the gauge and a nave pure. Apply a thin film greasings on an aperture for gauge installation.
2. Be convinced that the gauge tip is pure and easily enters into a nave.
3. Grease a carving of a bolt of fastening of the gauge with means against unscrewing (Loctite Frenetanch). Establish the gauge in a nest and fix a bolt.
4. Connect an electric socket of the gauge.
