Sequence of a tightening of bolts of a head of the block of cylinders


Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect the negative plug from the accumulator.
2. Merge cooling liquid.
3. Establish a mechanism drive timing before combination of adjusting apertures and block it in this position by cores.
Models of engines of 1.6 litres
4. Uncover heads of the block of cylinders.
5. Remove the case of the air filter.
6. The description of removal of a head of the block of cylinders from the engine without removal from a head of inlet and final collectors further follows. Disconnect a reception exhaust pipe from a final collector. In the presence of a ljambda-probe remove from it an electric socket.
7. Execute following actions:
      – Depressurize fuel system and remove hoses of giving of fuel and returnable hoses. The ends of hoses muffle stoppers;
      – Remove an accelerator cable;
      – Disconnect electric sockets from the case of throttles;
      – Remove electric sockets from fuel atomizers and release a braid of wires from a collector.
8. Ослабьте collars also remove hoses of a supply of a cooling liquid from the thermostat case (on the left forward party of a head of the block of cylinders).
9. Release скобы fastenings and remove electric sockets from gauges which are screwed in in the case of the thermostat or on the left side of a head of the block of cylinders.
10. Unscrew a bolt of fastening of a pipe щупа for measurement of level of engine oil from the left forward party of a head and remove a pipe.
11. Remove a socket from the ignition coil. If the head acts in film for major repairs carrying out, remove the coil of ignition and high-voltage wires. If necessary mark high-voltage wires for their correct repeated installation.
12. Release the mechanism of a tension of a gear belt and remove a gear belt from a cam-shaft pulley.
Models of engines of 1.8 and 2.0 litres
13. Remove knot of the air filter and system of inlet pipes.
14. Uncover heads of the block of cylinders.
15. Remove an inlet collector.
16. Remove a reception exhaust pipe from a final collector. In the presence of a ljambda-probe remove from it an electric socket.
17. Remove a radiator branch pipe.
18. Remove all remained hoses and electric sockets from a head of the block of cylinders.
19. Release the mechanism of a tension of a gear belt and remove a gear belt from pulleys of camshafts.
All models
20. Gradually and in regular intervals unscrew bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders in return sequence, under the relation shown on fig. Sequence of a tightening of bolts of a head of the block of cylinders. Remove bolts, marking a correct site of a lining, сориентированной on a forward left bolt on litre models 1.6.
21. After extraction of bolts of a head of the block of cylinders, it is necessary to separate a head of the block of cylinders from the engine. Thus the head lining can be damaged. On engines with demountable sleeves of cylinders the cylinder sleeve can be extended a lining therefore tightness of installation of sleeves can be broken and there will be a leak of a cooling liquid through this негерметичность.
22. For removal of a head of the block of cylinders use two metal cores with the ends bent at right angle which are established in apertures for bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders and smoothly shake a head to переду the car. It is impossible to turn a head in other direction since the back part of a head is established on directing pins.
23. After destruction of a lining or branch of a head from a lining remove a head of the block of cylinders. Remove a lining of a head from the block of cylinders of the engine. If directing pins are established in the block of cylinders on free landing, remove them and store together with a head.
24. On engines with replaceable sleeves of cylinders it is impossible to turn коленвал with the removed head, differently sleeves of cylinders can be put forward upwards from the nests. If necessary проворачивания коленвала (for cleaning of pistons) sleeves of cylinders should be fixed in a starting position. In the absence of special clips of sleeves of a sleeve it is possible to fix, having screwed in bolts with the big washers in the block of cylinders, as is shown in drawing.
25. If the head of the block of the cylinder acts in film for major repairs, remove a cam-shaft.

Preparation for installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Interfaced surfaces of a head and the block of cylinders of the engine are necessary for clearing carefully of the lining and deposit rests, using a plastic or wooden scraper. Also it is necessary to clear the top parts of pistons. At clearing exclude possibility of hit of products of clearing in oil channels of system of cooling. Carefully clear internal surfaces of cylinders.
2. Check up surfaces of interface of a head and the block of cylinders of the engine on presence of defects. Insignificant damages are eliminated by machining. Also, using a metal ruler and щуп, check up planeness прилегания surfaces.
3. On engines with separate sleeves of cylinders check up size выступания sleeves from the block of cylinders of the engine.
4. At installation of a new lining it is necessary to choose a lining of a corresponding thickness. On some models the head lining only is used one thickness. However, on other models there are linings of two various thickness – a standard lining which is established on manufacturer, and утолщенная a lining (+0,2 mm) which is used with перешлифованной a head of the block of cylinders. If the head перешлифована, it is marked by the letter “R“, beaten out about the third inlet channel. The lining should have also marks “R“, printed with the top party of a lining opposite to the third cylinder. Linings can be identified also on labels on the left forward party of a lining.
5. The standard lining of 1,2 mm is designated in the thickness by one aperture, beaten out on the left forward end of a lining, and утолщенная the lining (1,4 mm) is designated by two or three apertures which have been beaten out in the same place.
6. Check up a condition of bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders and, especially, their carving. Measure length of each bolt (without a washer) from the bottom party of a head of a bolt till the end of a bolt. If the length of bolts is less 176,5 mm (on models of engines of 1.6 litres) or less than 60 mm (on engines of 1.8 litres) or less than 112 mm (on engines of 2.0 litres), they can repeatedly be used. However if the length of any bolt exceeds specified, it is necessary to replace all bolts in the complete set.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Wipe surfaces of interface of a head and the block of cylinders and establish two directing cores in the block of cylinders of the engine. If were used, remove clips of fastening of sleeves of cylinders.
2. Establish a new lining on the block of cylinders so that identification labels were in the left end of a lining.
Models of engines of 1.6 litres
3. Check up that pulleys коленвала and a cam-shaft are fixed by adjusting cores. Establish a head on the block of cylinders on directing pins.
4. Grease a carving part of bolts and the bottom part of a head of a bolt with means Molykote G Rapid Plus.
5. Establish bolts with washers in a head of the block of cylinders and, in regular intervals and gradually, in certain sequence, tighten bolts (fig. Sequence of a tightening of bolts of a head of the block of cylinders see).
6. After a tightening of bolts ослабьте them in sequence, return to a tightening, and repeatedly tighten them in certain sequence the demanded moment.
7. Tighten all bolts on a corner 300 ° in certain sequence.
8. Connect the ignition coil.
9. Establish a gear belt of a drive on a cam-shaft pulley. Establish an engine mount to a head of the block of cylinders.
10. Adjust a belt tension.
11. Execute the remained operations on installation of a head of the block of cylinders in sequence, return to removal, observing following positions:
      – Correctly connect the removed electric sockets;
      – Correctly connect hoses of a cooling liquid and reliably tighten their collars;
      – Check up correctness of connection of vacuum and ventilating hoses;
      – Establish a cover of a head of the block of cylinders;
      – Connect a reception exhaust pipe to a collector, establish the air filter and an accelerator cable;
      – Fill in cooling liquid in system of cooling and connect a negative wire of weight to the accumulator.
Models of engines of 1.8 and 2.0 litres
12. Check up that pulleys коленвала and a cam-shaft are fixed by adjusting cores. Establish a head on the block of cylinders on directing pins. Grease a carving part of bolts and the bottom part of a head of a bolt with means Molykote G Rapid Plus. Establish bolts with washers in a head of the block of cylinders and, in regular intervals and gradually, in certain sequence, tighten them (fig. Sequence of a tightening of bolts of a head of the block of cylinders see).
13. After a tightening of bolts ослабьте them in sequence, return to a tightening, and repeatedly tighten them in certain sequence the demanded moment. Tighten all bolts on a corner 300 ° (engines in volume of 1.8 litres) or on a corner 160 ° (engines in volume of 2.0 litres) in certain sequence.
14. Establish a gear belt on a pulley of a cam-shaft and adjust its tension.
15. Other operations execute in sequence, return to removal, considering recommendations for engines in volume of 1.6 litres.
