THE GENERAL DATA

Calculation of a thickness of an adjusting lining of the valve

A.Vpusknoj the valve
E.Vypusknoj the valve
1. The measured backlash
2. A difference between 1 and 3
3. A normal backlash
4. A thickness of the established adjusting lining
5. The calculated thickness of a new adjusting lining

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check of adjustment of valves is necessary for making after occurrence of knock of valves, major repairs of the engine or at reduction of capacity of the engine. Check and adjustment make on the cold engine.
2. Tighten a manual brake, lift a forward part of the car and remove the right forward wheel.
3. Remove plastic protection of a wing for access to a bolt of fastening of a pulley коленвала.
4. Turn for a bolt of fastening of a pulley коленвал before combination of apertures in a pulley and the block of cylinders and block a pulley an adjusting core. For simplification проворачивания коленвала unscrew fuel atomizers.
5. Uncover heads of the block of cylinders.
6. Draw the scheme of the engine and number cylinders from 1 to 4. The cylinder 1 is from outside transmissions. On each cylinder draw inlet and final valves. Above each cylinder in drawing spend two horizontal lines. On a line №1 write down an actual backlash of all valves, and on a line №2 – size to which it is necessary to change a backlash for reception of the demanded size of a backlash.
7. Turn коленвал before full closing of the inlet valve of the cylinder 1, i.e. the cam-shaft cam on this valve should look upwards.
8. Using щуп, measure a backlash between the basis of a cam and a pusher. Make record of an actual backlash on a line №1 opposite to the corresponding valve.
9. Repeat measurement for the remained seven valves, turning коленвал as required so that the cam of the checked valve has been directed upwards.
10. Calculate a difference between an actual and demanded backlash and write down on a line №2.
11. If all backlashes are in demanded limits, establish a cover of a head of the block of cylinders, establish under a wing a plastic covering, establish a wheel and lower the car. If the actual backlash does not correspond to norm, it is necessary to make adjustment.

Adjustment

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a cam-shaft.
2. Remove the first pusher from a head and take an adjusting lining from the top part of the valve. Carefully wipe an adjusting lining and measure its thickness by a micrometer. Adjusting linings are usually marked, but their thickness can decrease at the expense of deterioration.
3. Referring to gaugings of backlashes of valves, it is necessary to define a thickness of a new adjusting lining. If the actual backlash of the valve was more demanded the thickness of an adjusting lining should be increased by the size which has been written down on a line №2 opposite to corresponding valve. If the actual backlash of the valve was less demanded the thickness of an adjusting lining should be reduced by the size which has been written down on a line №2 opposite to corresponding valve.
4. In drawing spend three horizontal lines below each valve. On a line №4 write down the measured thickness of an adjusting lining, then add or subtract the value which has been written down on a line №2. The thickness of a lining which is necessary for establishing for reception of an optimum backlash of the valve As a result turns out. She is necessary for writing down on a line №5.
5. Repeat operation for choice a new adjusting plate for the remained valves.
6. At installation of a new lining establish its marks downwards. From above on an adjusting lining establish pushers.
7. Establish a cam-shaft and repeatedly measure a backlash of valves.
