On some engines the top and bottom halves of bearings had an identical thickness. On engines of later releases the working backlash of bearings has been considerably reduced and that this condition was carried out, apply 4 various loose leaves which are designated by a colour label at an end face. Colour of a label designates a thickness of the loose leaf. The top loose leaf on all bearings has the identical size, and the working backlash is regulated by installation of the bottom loose leaf of a demanded thickness. Engines of 1.6 litres
On later engines new loose leaves can be chosen, using signs on the block of cylinders. In the absence of labels loose leaves can be picked up only measurement of a working backlash. Labels on the block of cylinders are on a block left-hand side, and labels коленвала – at a crosspiece end face коленвала. These labels can be used for a choice of the loose leaf of a demanded thickness as follows. On коленвале and the block of cylinders there are two lines of identification: shaped a code which is used Peugeot by manufacture, and a number from five designations. The first designation in sequence concerns the size of number of the first loose leaf. Last designation in sequence (which it is accompanied by an arrow) concern the size of number of the fifth loose leaf.
