3.3.19. Start of the engine after major repairs

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. On the engine established in a motor compartment of the car, check up levels of engine oil and cooling liquid. Check up that all earlier removed wires and hoses are established on the places.

Petrol engines

2. Unscrew spark plugs and disconnect fuel system, having removed electric sockets from fuel atomizers.

3. Establish spark plugs and connect fuel system.

Diesel engines

4. To prevent engine start on engines in volume of 1.9 litres, disconnect a wire from the electromagnetic valve of a stop of the engine on the fuel pump, then turn the engine a starter until the control lamp of pressure of oil will not go out. Repeatedly connect a wire to the electromagnetic valve of a stop of the engine. On engines in volume of 2.1 litres it is enough to remove the relay of multipurpose system of injection of the fuel, located in block ECU.

5. Fill fuel system with fuel.

6. Press an accelerator pedal against the stop, turn the ignition key in position "M" and wait, the lamp of the control of work of candles накаливания will not go out yet.

All engines

7. Start the engine. Engine start can be more long, than usually, because of switching-off of fuel system.

8. At engine work idling check up presence of leaks of the fuel, cooling liquid and oil. At this stage of work of the engine the smell and a smoke from нагретых engine parts can be observed at burning out of the oil which have got on the engine at assemblage.

9. The engine should idle until the cooling liquid will not heat up that will be felt through the top hose of a radiator. Then switch off the engine.

10. Check up installation of a corner of an advancing of ignition (petrol engines) or installation of the fuel pump (diesel engines).
11. Check up levels of oil and cooling liquid.
12. On diesel engines in volume of 2.1 litres after engine cooling it is necessary to tighten repeatedly bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders.
13. At installation in the engine of new pistons, rings or bearings коленвала it is necessary to make обкатку the engine during run of the first 800 km. Do not maintain the engine with completely open throttle заслонкой or under the big loading at low frequency of rotation of the engine. It is recommended to replace oil and the oil filter in the end of the period обкатки.
