5.2.13. Fuel atomizers
THE GENERAL DATA

The prevention

At check of work of fuel atomizers never substitute hands or any part of a body under the stream of fuel leaving an atomizer. Fuel leaves an atomizer under a high pressure and can get into a body through a skin that can lead to a fatal outcome.


Check

Atomizer parametres worsen at long use and, most likely, it is necessary to repair or replace them after 100 000 km of run of the car. Check, major repairs and calibration of atomizers should be made by the expert.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Start the engine in a mode of the increased idling.
2. Consistently unscrew connections of the fuel pipeline to each atomizer. At pipeline unscrewing on a serviceable atomizer power setting will change. At pipeline unscrewing on a faulty atomizer power setting will not change.

Removal


The prevention

To remove an atomizer with the gauge of lifting of a needle, application of a special nest for maintenance of moving of a wire of the gauge, available on station Peugeot is necessary.


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove system of pipes of an air inlet and the top part of an inlet collector.
2. Carefully clear a place round atomizers and nuts of fastening of pipelines to atomizers.
3. Unscrew nuts of fastening of pipelines to atomizers. If necessary fuel tubes can be removed completely. Close the ends of atomizers for prevention of hit of a dirt.
4. Remove from atomizers returnable pipelines.
5. Unscrew from the fuel pump fuel pipes of atomizers.
6. Unscrew atomizers from a head of the block of cylinders, using a special face key on 27 mm, and remove atomizers.
7. Remove copper washers from atomizers.
8. Take sealing washers from a head of the block of cylinders.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. At installation use new copper and sealing washers. Also establish new plugs if the old have damages.
2. At work with atomizers be careful not to damage an atomizer needle.
3. At installation at first insert plugs into a head of the block of cylinders, then fire-resistant washers (camber upwards) and copper washers.
4. Insert atomizers and tighten their demanded moment.
5. Establish fuel pipes on atomizers.
6. Repeatedly connect pipes of return of fuel.
7. Establish system of pipes of an air inlet and the top part of an inlet collector.
8. Start the engine. If the engine is not started, remove air from fuel system.
